About Us
A mixing pot of cultures and flavours
Welcome to Street Eats Kitchin, where global flavors meet local charm! Based in the heart of East Lothian, our business is the culinary dream of Chris Opoku and Esther Paterson, a couple whose love story began amidst the vibrant street food markets of London.

Our Story
Esther is originally from Portobello, but spent a decade in London in corporate jobs. Chris, originally from Ghana, moved to the UK as a child and grew up savoring the rich, authentic tastes of West African cuisine, along with Caribbean influences. With over a decade of experience in the street food scene, Chris has honed his skills in Turkish and Asian cuisines, including a successful five-year stint at a popular stall on London's iconic South Bank.

Esther and Chris relocated to East Lothian in 2023 and were struck by the lack of diverse, global flavors in the area. This inspired the creation of Street Eats Kitchin, a place where you can experience a world of tastes right at your doorstep.

Currently, Chris is also a chef at the renowned Drift Coffeehouse at Canty Bay, who have generously supported his vision by providing a home for Street Eats Kitchin for the next year. We invite you to join us on this flavorful journey and discover the delicious diversity that Street Eats Kitchin has to offer.
